Hello, Very nice blog. I'm finding it very interesting. I see you CSR is for the track. If I get the nerve, I would like to buy a CSR but mostly for public roads not for the track. So I would not be driving one nearly as hard as you do. Could you please tell me your opinion whether a CSR would be a reliable everyday use car if not taken to the track but used mainly as just a sporty road car? Well, just one more question, do you think 260 hp is too much power to be an enjoyable road car? eg. does it need to be kept revved-up to get to enough torque.
Hi, The Duratec engine has lots of torque and the engine doesn't need to be revved much at all.
The problem as I see it, is that the fun begins when you drive close to some kind of limit. The limit on these cars is so far away that you have trouble reaching it on public roads. The speed sensation though is much greater in a seven than other sport cars such as a Porsche and similar.
I wouldn't have a car like this for everyday driving. As a weekend toy on the other hand it is really fun.
But that's me. I drive a motorbike every day to work. If you ask on Blatchat or Pistonheads I'm sure you'll get lots of other opinions on this subject.
Thanks for your response. I appreciate it. Most of my motoring experience is with motorcycles (racing and recreation). I was applying my experience with motorcycles. I certainly agree with you that driving at the limits is more fun. Some of the best fun I've had is in an under-powered car with skinny tires on a curvy mountain road. Thanks for the two cites. I will check them out. All the best and thanks again, Steve NY NY
